Changing the way you get involved

Thanks to everyone who applied to join our new resident strategic panel in October.

In November, our resident engagement team held two taster sessions that allowed interested candidates to learn more about us and how the panel will work. Each candidate also attended individual skills-based interviews to discuss their motivation and aspirations for joining the panel. 

Following these sessions, we welcomed nine residents from across our regions and local communities to join the resident-led panel. Our new panel members will complete a thorough induction in January 2024 to help them prepare for their work in the group. 

How the panel will work 

The panel will work with our resident engagement team to help improve services and performance. This could be anything from helping to make strategic policy decisions and exploring potential improvements to services to what goes on in local neighbourhood groups and activities. 

The first step to achieving this will be putting together smaller working groups that look at specific areas and services requiring improvement across Peabody.  

How you can work with the panel 

Our resident engagement team regularly updates members of Peabody Voice on what’s happening across all our regions. Being part of Peabody Voice is a great way to keep updated on our new resident-led panel’s work and be one of the first to learn about future engagement activities and opportunities.

Learn more about our new approach to resident engagement 

Our panel is a recommendation of the co-design action group - a group set up earlier this year to work with residents to help improve the way we talk to residents. 

Thanks to your input, the co-design group gave five recommendations for improving our approach to engaging with residents. The resident-led strategic panel was the first of these recommendations.
