The prestigious Evening Standard New Homes Awards celebrate innovation and excellence and are presented to homes and developments that showcase the very best in modern housebuilding. Now in their 30th year, they are judged by an independent panel of property experts as well as Evening Standard readers who have recently purchased a property.

Peabody winners 2021

Best Regeneration Project: Southmere, Thamesmead SE2

Southmere Village is the first phase of the South Thamesmead and Abbey Wood Housing zone. It will deliver more than 1,600 new homes on four sites on the doorstep of the new Elizabeth line station at Abbey Wood.

The Evening Standard describes it as "Clusters of handsome, mellow brick blocks grouped around raised shared courtyards, creating smaller communities within the larger whole. And where once were towers, there will now be a sequence of streets and lakeside squares, one with a water clock tower as a focal point, and an arcade of shops."

Best Family Home: The Pomeroy, SE14

This boutique development is on the doorstep of Hatcham Gardens in New Cross.

Here's what the Evening Standard says: "The Pomeroy brings something fresh, a smart scheme of apartments, duplexes and houses for family living. Built around a communal garden, the development borders a park and local primary school. Some flats are triple aspect and all have outside space."
