Celebrating the women at Peabody who work tirelessly to support some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

International Women's Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. To mark this day, we have recognised some of the women at Peabody who work tirelessly to support some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
Nicole Foad-Bailey manages a team of Health and Housing Co-ordinators. Based at the William Harvey Hospital in Kent, Nicole's team work alongside the hospital's Discharge team to ensure that patients do not need to stay in hospital longer than they need to because they don't have a home to go to. They advise on housing options and provide individual support.
Sometimes people don't want to return to the home they came from if it is unsafe or if it may require adaptations such as grab rails. Nicole's team also follow up with discharged patients to signpost them to any health and wellbeing services they might need to help prevent further hospital admissions.
Nicole's seven-year-old daughter Isabella is very proud of her mum's dedication to supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
As part of their International Women's Day celebrations this year, Isabella wrote this poem about the hard work she watches her mum do:
Nicole said that Isabella has seen her work all the way through the pandemic: "Isabella told me that it's people like you mummy that help the Covid go away! She's seen me cry, laugh and get excited about all the things I do in my job. I want to set a strong example for Isabella and feel very proud that she recognises the hard work that I do."
